Soroptimist International of Carmel Bay: Helping women and girls live their dreams

Mission:

Soroptimist is a global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment.

Vision:

Women and girls have the resources and opportunities to reach their full potential and live their dreams.

For the next 2 weeks, Freedom Art is donating 20% of all proceeds from our website to Soroptimist International of Carmel Bay.

All of the donations to our Soroptimist Club will go towards awarding scholarships for our winners.

Our personal connection to Soroptimist

Alyson de Guigne founded Freedom Art in Carmel, California. While she was watercoloring her first greeting card designs day and night, she met her quilting office neighbor, Kathleen Voris. Kathleen introduced Alyson to Soroptimist and together the two  serve as President and Vice President.

Message from Alyson

Before COVID, our Soroptimist Club was able to volunteer for major events in Pebble Beach and Monterey and those organizations in turn would donate the hours we worked, to our Club.

As our treasurer, Marilyn Schultz's often notes: we run a "lean machine." Virtually 100% of the money taken into our club is spent entirely on our awardees.

With the cancellation of all major events in 2020, our Club is at risk of closing. I hope that by donating a percentage of my online sales I can help contribute to our 2020-2021 scholarships. If you or your business is interested in making a donation to our Chapter, please contact Alyson via the contact page.
