Meet the Artist

Alyson de Guigné is a California artist who is proud to be the 4th generation of her family connected to the Monterey Peninsula.

Her artistic eye spans from filmmaking to painting. She graduated from the University of Southern California and has worked in Los Angeles, London and New York as an actor, screenwriter and director. Following production of her film, The Walk, she was commissioned to create several paintings and has been painting full-time ever since.

She is the owner of Carmel’s Freedom Art, whose line of greeting cards and other products can be found in a number of stores across the country including a personal favorite, Whole Foods! In addition, her fine art has been added to a number of private collections across the United States.

Her goal as an artist and collaborator is to make spaces come to life through her love of animals and nature. On the Monterey Peninsula, she draws her inspiration from the serenity of the Pacific Ocean, stormy skies, and bright hues of aquatic life.

Trivia: Her deep passion for the arts literally runs in her blood: she is related to California artist, Ansel Adams and New England artist, Laura Coombs Hills.

In her spare time you might catch Alyson walking Carmel Beach with friends, volunteering as President of Soroptimist International of Carmel Bay or petting french bulldogs.

 Message from the Artist

“Freedom Art started with a single watercolor painting which I then turned into a greeting card and mailed to my father. Designs have since been added to the collection to celebrate Weddings, Birthdays and Holidays.
Through art and written word, I have been able to stay connected with the people I love. I hope these watercolor paintings brighten your day and bring you closer to the people in your life.”

Made in USA

Freedom Art products are hand made in Carmel, California.
